INDIA REPORTS NEARLY Nearly 60,000 NEW CASES--------------------------------------------------------------------------------- According to Indian health authorities, the country has recorded 59,117 new cases, a figure up from the 53,476 identified the day before, and the highest for more than 5 months. India has 11.846 million confirmed cases. At the same time, 257 coronavirus-related deaths have been accounted for. Bringing the death toll to 160,949. CHINA REPORTS OFFICIALLY 11 NEW CASES ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- According to the National Health Commission, all the cases involve people arriving from abroad and seven of them were detected in Shanghai. Officially, 90,147 infections have been identified in mainland China. Since mid-January, the country has not recorded any new deaths linked to COVID-19.
